Affinity groups are community-led groups formed around a shared interest or goal. Affinity groups are eligible for up to $2,000 for planned activities.

Globus Compute. The group aims to make navigating the service, whether for single-user or multi-user installations, easier and more accessible. Together, they explore how to: Set up and configure Globus Compute for different environments; Help researchers integrate it into their workflows; Troubleshoot challenges and share tips for success. CI Value, Return on Investment, and Impact. The consortium gathers information about the network institutions to build a coherent understanding of the value, return on investment, and impact of advanced cyberinfrastructure to the Midwest as well as network participants’ home institutions.  Read more about the ROI group here

Next Generation Data Centers. Increasing interest from researchers in accelerators has put pressure on existing computing and data resources and their facilities. New and anticipated compute architectures have power and cooling requirements that will further strain existing data center capacity. Read more about the NexGen Affinity Group here

The Scientific Cloud Affinity Group looks at how traditional HPC centers approach cloud computing to support increasingly diverse scientific and engineering research and education endeavors.
