IMPORTANT: This round, the program is only accepting applications from RCD professionals at higher ed institutions across the Midwest region, as this best aligns with the Consortium’s overall goals. We especially encourage applicants from smaller institutions to apply. We will be sure to share updates if the participant pool expands to other regions in the future.

Kick-off session to introduce the program structure, objectives, and expectations.
Participants will engage in three main types of professional development activities, designed to build leadership skills, broaden perspectives, and deepen understanding of the full RCD ecosystem: (1) Cohort-Based Merit Program: As a cohort, participants will complete one merit-based training program that cultivates the skills needed for future CI leaders; (2) “Other Facings” Interview: Each participant will conduct a structured interview with a professional from a different “facing” than their own; (3) Optional Engagement: Volunteer at PEARC or contribute to the CaRRC community initiatives.
Cross-Institutional Visits: Rotating visits to UW-Madison (December 2025), UMN (April 2026), and UMich (August 2026) to explore different governance, infrastructures, and leadership approaches.
Collaborative, mentored project addressing real-world RCD challenges.
Coffee chats, guest speakers, and interactive sessions on leadership, funding, and ethics.
Exercises to build self-awareness and articulate leadership growth.
Present projects and reflections at the Midwest RCD Consortium Annual Network Retreat..
